Emotionally supporting women to find their internal strength, confidence and belief in themselves to enjoy, connect and live in the moment is empowering.
I feel that deep connection is what parents and mothers need during this time of physical and emotional change.
It is a rewarding gift I want to share with others in the future.
I have felt a strong calling toward pregnant women in the birthing process since I was a little girl. There is something magical about witnessing the miracle of birth. It started in high school with baby sitting and being a nanny. I learned how to help families and young children with their daily lives. That evolved in to my interest in nursing and I started my journey with being accepted to the University of Portland. As I continued through my college education, I found many interests that included labor and delivery, post-partum, being in the NICU and pediatric care. All of those fields were compelling however I went back to the beginning of helping families and being with babies.
As I graduated college and excitedly jumped into my career as a Labor and Delivery nurse, my life changed forever. I have been fortunately given the opportunity to be apart and help thousands of women though their pregnancy. As I have found great joy and developed extensive experience in the medical field of nursing, there is much more to the birthing journey. I have learned over the last several years the deepening importance of the spiritual human interaction, which I find the most rewarding. Emotionally supporting women to find their internal strength, confidence and belief in themselves to enjoy, connect and live in the moment is empowering. And I feel that deep connection is what parents and mothers need during this time of physical and emotional change. It is a rewarding gift I want to share with others in the future.
I am integrating nearly 20 years of nursing experience, my own parenting path and most recently, my holistic doula process and model. I want to provide women and their families hands on support, informed education and empower them to make their own future decisions. As a society I have learned and observed the difficulty of using our voices with the intent of being heard. Part of my approach will include empowering women to find their voice and educate them on informed consent where they feel confident in making their own decision for their baby and family.
